46th Virginia Governor's Cup Results

 

Congratulations to Jeff Neurauter of Alexandrian and his crew Happy Olmstead, winners of the The Governor’s Cup trophy. The placed first in the Buccaneer Class which had the largest participation in the regatta with 11 boats.

The Congressman’s Cup was awarded Kendra Walker, 12, of  Hampton The Hampton Yacht Club member sailed an almost flawless Opti regatta demonstrating exceptional on-the-water skills, boat balance, and tactics, competing with a spirit that exemplifies the friendly and competitive balance that all sailors strive to reach. 

The 2010 Chamber of Commerce Gloucester Cup was awarded to George Revill, 14, of Poquoson (Hampton Yacht Club). George beat out 10 other junior Laser sailors, winning with straight bullets across his scorecard.  The award was established in 1970 to recognize the top sailor under age 18.

We have new WRYC T-shirts and Tervis tumblers with the club burgee will be at the club and ready for you to purchase. The T-shirts have a brand new design, and for the first time we will have T- shirts in 2 different colors in a women’s style available. New hats in navy and white will also be in stock. Canvas tote bags (especially well suited to the needs of young sailors) in navy with the club burgee on the side will be available as well. Open Club Days

Again this summer, the clubhouse will be open most Sundays from mid-morning until sunset, and the kitchen, restrooms, and gas grills will be available for members. Please read and observe the following policies so that we can continue to offer this opportunity.
